Are we innocent by-standers that bide our time? Or are we really just waiting for something better to come along?

All, my life, I've wondered what the difference between biding time and waiting for something better really is?

I think I've done my fair share of both, but what bothers me is that nothing better ever seems to come along and when it comes down to it, I've not really bided my time I've simply wasted it...wasted it on biding that is.

To those of you who've skipped your class more times than you've attended it, you know what I mean. I was biding my time there, not waiting for something better because Lord knows I wasn't going to get something better (like an A perhaps) by missing class continuously.

I've waited for someone better to come along and I sure as hell haven't seen the fruits of that labor -- I hope God sends someone my way soon or I may begin to really believe you were better. Terrible thought.

The thing I don't tend to realize though is that waiting for something or someone better or biding my time doesn't stop time or stall aging, I am simply wasting my life away dreaming of things instead of really pursuing them. Biding time is a way to escape reality but it's also a grand way to miss some of the most important moments in your life...

*Always.
