When does a starting relationship wave the tale-tell signs that it is becoming too serious too fast?

I had a talk with one of my girlfriends last night and she confided in me that the guy she is dating (FINALLY) confessed his feelings for her; and they were of course, what she had hoped for...and in turn, because she was so happy...well, uh she cried? Now, don't get me wrong...I've never been one to romanticize things or milk them either...and perhaps she was just really happy, but I am not sure that crying over something as beginning and simple as knowing that someone likes you is a sure-fire way to start a relationship...

However, I will say that my friend has been in search of love for a long time and of course I tried to tell her that she is never going to be happy with any boyfriend she will ever have until she is happy with herself. That's right ladies, you heard it here first; in order for you to be truly happy in a relationship, you need to be truly happy and comfortable with yourself. I used to think, I still do sometimes, that if I couldn't even figure out what I wanted or what makes me happy how was I ever going to be able to do that for another person?

Now, this friend of mine shall remain nameless; and I suppose that I just worry for her...she tends to worry in the later portions of any relationship she has ever had, so I try to be the mediator in between the beginning time and "ending" time.

I wish you the best of luck M. :)

*Always.
