This is what amazes me, how someone can think that they're being criticized while not looking to see if there is really a problem. When you feel as though your character is constantly being attacked would you stop and think there may be a particular reason or that everyone's full of shit and you're absolutely fabulous? While I myself am sometimes in favor of merely looking to the latter of the previous actions, it has done me good to look at others criticism and react knowing that I need to change even if I don't want to change. A few times in my life I have been labeled many things that I do not consider myself to be; honestly, I will tell you if I am something that isn't necessarily an endearing quality. For example, have there been times in my life when I could have been labeled a liar? Yes. Have these times been recenty? Yes. Have I hurt people because of that lying? Yes. That is the thing about life - you gotta take the good with the bad - BUT only if it's really necessary, sometimes the bad isn't really and bad and sometimes the good isn't so good. There are lines to draw and lines to cross. But I keep thinking about people who can't see past their own righteous image that they continue their daily patterns of denial, pity, and lack of remorse. I have triumphed over many things that were bad in my life but those bad things made be a better person. It isn't about using what tools you've obtained through your life to continue on the same way; it's about being a life learner and using those old tools to make new ones. Life isn't about being one way or another it's about realizing you have only a certain amount of time to do the things you need to do and either realizing you have the ability or that you don't. I have the ability. I am confident that choices I have made have taught me something. You can't always be looking for the lessons because when you're looking is when you fail to see that it may already be happening... *Always. |
